Even though smart bands are the most popular for the moment in the Global Market of wearable devices, smart watches are gaining ground. The market shares of smart bands will decrease in the future according to lots of studies about the interest of potential customers. The demand of wearable devices will continue to increase as well as the demand of smart watches, smart glasses and others wearable devices but smart bands will lose the interest of consumers.
This following timeline highlights the development of new high tech devices, new features, and new designs. Wristbands were the first wearable devices launched in 2011 by Fitbit, followed in 2012 by a smart watch of the brand Sony, and the Google glasses in 2013. Apple launched its smart watch only in 2015, but gain market shares with this smart wearable running third-party applications.
